Important Factors To Think About When Choosing An Auto Transport Carrier

Posted December 17th by Tom Kearns in Trucks

One of the most valuable assets you own is probably your car. For many people a car not only holds monitory value, it is a necessity for transportation to and from work as well as for errands that must be ran. When you are moving your car across the country, you want to be sure that it will be well cared for. That means when choosing an auto transport carrier you will need to be very diligent so that your vehicle arrives at the new destination without any damage. The following tips will help you to choose a safe and reliable carrier.

Seek out a shipping company which has a very good reputation. Use the internet and search to check out the companies. If a company has a bad reputation a quick internet search will let you see reviews of several dissatisfied customers. Look for a site that gives you more than just a star rating if possible. You will want to know both what happened and how the company tried to resolve the problem. You need a feel for how the company deals with problems as well as the problems that happened. If the majority of reviews are negative, it is probably best to stay away from that company and to choose a different carrier.

You will want to know if the shipping company has the proper licenses to transport your car. Auto transport companies need a federal license ans should fulfill insurance and bond requirements. Legitimate carriers will have no problem in allowing you to see these items.

Ask about insurance that will cover any damage your vehicle sustains in transport. Also be sure that you understand any limitations in the coverage of your vehicle. What the company considers minor damage may be rock chips to the paint or even broken glass. If their insurance does not cover this damage, then you will be responsible to pay for the repairs yourself. Be sure that you read the fine print.

You will find several different options for shipping a vehicle. Not all companies offer all of these options, so if one is important to you, be sure that you check.

With the open shipping method your vehicle is simply loaded in an open trailer. While less expensive, cars are more susceptible to damage from the elements. If it is storm season, there is the possibility of hail damage. Flying gravel can also cause problems.

Enclosed shipping uses an enclosed trailer and reduces the likelihood of damage to your vehicle from road debris. The difference in price may be worth protecting your vehicle from possible damage, especially if you are shipping an antique or specialty vehicle.

Economy service cost less but may take more time to get your vehicle where you need it to be. The vehicle may change trailers several times in the process of getting to your new home and spend a few days between locked in a secure storage yard. If you are not in a big hurry to get the vehicle where you eventually will need it, this can save money.

Full service is the quickest way to get you vehicle to its new destination and usually includes door to door service.

Pondering On The Success Of Citrus Heights Honda Sales Outlets

Posted December 10th by John Harvey in Cars

Taking a look at Citrus Heights Honda dealers and Honda itself shows a company and a dealer network, especially in many parts of the country, that are continuing to set the standard when it comes to growth of the company and growth of customer service satisfaction. This is remarkable, as the auto climate this last year hasn’t been very welcoming, with other makers actually going through bankruptcy.

From the very beginning, when Honda brought its famous Honda Civic to these shores well over 30 years ago, the company has only continued to grow steadily and with more vigor and every year, even in the most trying of economic climates such as what is being experienced at present. Many of its products help it to maintain this momentum, including the Accord, which is made in this country.

Perhaps there is no real secret to their success, other than that you make a fantastic automobile filled with high quality and true attention to detail. But there’s also another important component to such success when speaking of Honda and that is its sterling dealership network and the reputation each has for customer service at every point in the purchasing and then driving experience.

Up in Northern California, near Sacramento, the dealers in the Citrus Heights Honda network have shown over and over again what it’s like to deliver quality, not only in an automobile but also in the amount of customer satisfaction that can be generated. This fine community boasts several of the best Honda dealerships in the country, all of whom work hard to build the Honda family.

In just the recent past, the government wrapped up its famous Cash for Clunkers program. Designed to stimulate mainly domestic American automobile manufacturing sales, Honda was able to place its famous Honda Civic among the top three sellers and its Honda Fit within the top 10 sellers. This accomplishment says much for Honda and its dealer network, which did yeoman work in bringing about the success.

Certainly the Honda dealers in Citrus Heights did more than their share to deliver this signal honor to the company under this program, which was really designed to boost domestic American car sales. What may be conveniently missed is that many of the Honda products sold under Cash for Clunkers were compacts and other vehicles manufactured right here in our own country.

When it comes to the strict standards for quality and customer service that each franchise must meet, the Citrus Heights dealership family easily meets those benchmarks and then exceeds them. Several of the dealerships in this region consistently lead in sales and customer satisfaction across the whole country. Perhaps that is because customer satisfaction is their number one priority every time.

And this is why Citrus Heights Honda dealers will continue to lead the way in helping Honda to keep navigating successfully through the current economic downturn, which is one that has seen many other automobile manufacturers suffer steep losses. This is not so with Honda, which has continued growing while also continuing keeping each and every one of its customers very happy.

When choosing your honda, why not select it from a place thats reliable and has the best cars. You will find out more with Clicking these URL’s that shows you more information about citrus heights honda and elk grove honda.

Excellent Deals At Automotive Auctions

Posted December 9th by Brad Carlton in Trucks

Do you recall the cartoon the Flintstones? I love the episode about automotive auctions. The car they are bidding on is a gangster car involved in a bank robbery. They do not know a gangster sent one of his henchmen to bid the car and win it and bring it to their hideout. Fred is warned by the minion not to bid on it. Fred takes this as a challenge. Fred wins the bid because the henchman is eating a peanut butter sandwich and his mouth sticks and cannot open his mouth to outbid Fred.

The gangster’s minion tries to out bid Fred for the car at the auction. But he is eating peanut butter and his mouth sticks shut and he cannot bid. Fred and Barney win the bid and race off with the bank robbery car.

The gangster finds out where Fred lives from the automotive auction people. Fred and Barney in the meantime are driving around town in this big gangster car. They take it home where their wives are excited and send the boys to the market for groceries to have a party to celebrate their new ride.

By this time the minion has informed the gangster and he and his other henchmen have gone to Fred’s home and have followed him to the market. They start firing on Fred and Barney in the car ahead of them. The caveman pistols are a type of sling shot with a wooden barrel which fires rocks.

The boys are shelled with rocks. We believe that the rocks fired from these guns can be deadly. They are rocks after all. It worked for David against Goliath. The boys race trying to keep in front of their attackers. Up ahead is a large house on a hill. They race up the road looking for safety.

But they do not know this is the hide out of the head gangster. Fred and Barney are trapped. The gangsters tie them up and start asking where the money is. The boys have no idea what they are talkiing about. They were simply looking for a good deal at the automotive auction. The gangsters find the money in the trunk to the surprise of Fred and Barney.

The gangsters believe they are telling the truth that they did not know about the money. But because they know too much they have to be disposed of. He loads his gun. All of a sudden the police rush in. They had the car under surveillance at all times. They were trying to trap the gangster and his henchmen. They knew he would try to buy the car from the auction.

Fred and Barney are heroes. They do not end up with the car but they get a small reward for their trouble. Now you will probably not have such an adventure when you go to get a great deal at an automotive auction. All you will get is a good car at a great price.

Federal Government Auto Auctions – Important Information For Car Dealers

Posted December 7th by Davion Wong in Cars

Considering the economic crisis turning for the worse, it’s not surprising why more and more people choose to buy cheaper cars. It’s a piece of good news for used car dealers, actually, as this opens up bigger opportunities for them to earn more. What’s better, they can buy second hand cars cheaper through Federal government auto auctions.

Car auctions are indeed a great avenue for car dealers to buy cars and then resell them at a higher price, but significantly lower than brand new cars, of course. Some of these cars are even luxury cars which can potentially earn you huge profits. A little repair or repainting job here and there can make the car look brand new; nobody would suspect that you got it for just a fraction of the price of a brand new car.

Car auctions of the Federal government are usually flocked by people, many of them car dealers, too, so it is important that you come prepared so you will have more edge, more advantage over them. Be among the first to come to the auction so you can have better chances of being in a position to start the ball rolling.

You must know that there are usually pre-bid events being conducted a few days before the scheduled car auction. These pre-bid events give you the opportunity to take a look at the cars being offered for bidding. Take advantage of these events and go get an expert to take a look at the cars with you. Bringing along a mechanic with you gives you confidence that you are not going to end up buying a car that looks good only on the outside.

It’s often worth it to buy several cars at once because you cannot be certain as to when the Federal government holds car auctions next. Then again, you must be ready with enough capital as these can add to a lot of money.

Although it may indeed be a lot cheaper to buy cars through car auctions, you need to be aware that the bid price may go higher. It’s always wise therefore to be mindful of how much you are willing to spend for a certain car so that you will not go beyond your budget in case the bid goes higher than what you are prepared to pay for.

When you look at it, car auctions do favor car dealers of second hand cars. However it’s necessary that you also act with prudence. For instance, you must exert time and effort to go over the car first and you must know when to stop bidding.

Give your car business a head start through Federal government auto auctions.

Looking For Used Cars For Sale? Try The Web

Posted December 3rd by Ira Benet in Cars

The Internet has made a difference in many diverse businesses but perhaps one of the places where it’s made its biggest impact is with people looking for used cars for sale on the web. There are many different reasons why buying used cars online has become the best way to get what you want within your budget. Here are just some of the bigger ones.

Choice

Of course it stands to reason that when you’re looking for a used car on the Internet you’ll be able to look through a much broader selection than if you limit yourself to the more traditional kind of used car lots. Many boundaries disappear when you’re looking for used cars for sale in cyberspace, and some of the people who are willing to sell you these cars from foreign countries are able to make the deal better by including the shipping costs.

Competition

Of course the competition on the Internet drives the price down as well. It stands to reason that if you’re looking for a Honda, the Internet will have more people willing to sell you the make and model that you’re looking for. This is the kind of competition that you’re not going to get from more traditional brick-and-mortar lots and when you’re looking to buy cars online there are even sites where the sellers need to compete for the buyer’s attention.

There are other advantages to using the buy cars online model but there are still some people that think it’s somehow more risky than the more traditional method where you meet the buyer face to face. Nothing could be further from the truth. Buying a car online is identical to buying a car from a concrete lot in some very important ways.

For example, it’s advised by any reputable online car dealer that you get the same documentation from any buyer and that you don’t forego this important process. It’s important that people wanting to buy cars online are protected by the same documentation and safeguards that they would be had they bought the car from the more traditional used car lot.

It’s essential that you remember there are distinct advantages to buying a car on the Internet that can’t be matched by their more traditional brick-and-mortar counterparts. One quick look at the best of the websites available will tell you that all the most important processes are still followed, but the selection is vastly improved on the web.

Honda Inverter Power Sources

Posted November 26th by Owen Jones in Cars

When it comes to the home and portable generator industry, nothing has been quite as exciting as the new line of inverter Generators from Honda. Honda inverter Generators give you all of the muscle that you need in a generator, with maximum fuel efficiency, light weight, and surprisingly quiet performance. Put all of these features together with the reputation that Honda has for premium Premium and the news is even better.

For running simple things like lights and televisions, you can get along fine with just a regular gas generator. However, for more sensitive equipment such as computers, they are usually not sufficient. Your computers and printers and other such things need to have a constant and even electrical supply in order for them to operate correctly. Regular gas Generators have a tendency to fluctuate which isn’t a real problem for normal things like televisions coffeepots, and lights, but could spell real disaster for more sensitive things.

The answer to this problem is the Honda inverter generator. Honda has used inverter technology to make a generator which uses microprocessors to mimic the flow of electricity that would come out of your home outlet. This regulated flow of electricity makes it perfectly safe for anyone to run a computer or printer using a Honda inverter generator, without worrying about fluctuations causing a crash in the equipment.

One more really cool benefit of using a Honda inverter generator is the fact that they are small. They are about half the size and weight of your regular gas Generators and they provide just as much capability. One of the the reasons why it is so light and compact is the fact that they built the alternator right into it. When it comes to fuel economy there isn’t any better than the Honda inverter generator, as the larger 46 pound model will run all of 15 hours on one single tank of gas, while the smaller 30 pound model will give you a full eight hrs of run time. And as far as how loud they are, when most people run one of these Generators you can barely even tell that it is in use.

Despite the fact that the Honda inverter generator is so efficient, you still want to make sure that you pick out the right model for requirements. Honda has developed a few different sizes of their inverter Generators so it only makes sense to choose the right one for your needs. When it comes to the workload that they will handle, the standard rule is in effect with Honda inverter generator as the larger models will do more work than smaller ones.

Bearing this in mind, when you’re shopping for a Honda inverter generator you require to be aware of all of the tasks that you’re going to require your tool to accomplish, and buy accordingly. When you’re visiting your Honda dealer, you should be able to get all of the help that you require from the salespeople and technicians to find the perfect generator for your needs.

There are a lot of places online to look for information on honda generators but not all of it is quality. If you would like some good information on generators on sale, visit http://rvgeneratorsforsale.com

Tricks For Decal Removal From Your Car

Posted November 25th by John Miller in Trucks

If you have a vehicle that has a decal or bumper sticker that you no longer want on there vehicle the following tips may help in decal removal without harming the paint.

A heat gun is usually very useful in removing the decals and stickers from a vehicle. If a heat gun is not available, try parking the vehicle so that the decal faces the hot sun in the summer. If this is not possible try using a blow dryer or an iron over a damp towel. You are trying to heat the adhesive under the decal so that it melts and and the solid part of the decal can be removed.

After you melt the adhesive, you will want to have a soft scraper such as a plastic putty knife or credit card to lift the edge of the decal. If you are brave, you can use a razor blade to slide under the decal, buy you will want to be careful that you do not scrape the paint on the vehicle.

Once you are under the decal continue to lift it off of the paint, adding more heat whenever necessary to continue the lifting process. If the decal tears or you lose your edge, keep heating and lifting until you are able to completely remove it. Eventually, you should be able to remove the entire decal from the vehicle.

For decals that are thin like pinstripes, 3M makes a tool called a “Stripe off” tool. The tool is inserted into an electric drill and works like a power eraser to remove the pinstripe from the vehicle. It also works for lettering and small bumper stickers, as long as there is a clear coat over the finish of the vehicle.

After removing the decal from your vehicle, you may find that a sticky residue is left to be removed. If that residue is left on the vehicle, it will become very unsightly as dust and dirt adhere to it.

Several types of solvent are recommended to remove the stickiness from the paint of the vehicle. If one does not work then try another until the residue has been removed from your vehicle.

Some residue may be able to be removed using only rubbing alcohol mixed with dish soap or WD-40. Others will require a stronger solvent such as lighter fluid or even lacquer thinner. Do not apply solvents while the vehicle is warm and do not allow to sit on the surface of the paint long enough to damage the finish of the vehicle. One of these solvents should do the trick to remove the stickiness.

Decals have a tenancy to protect the paint they cover. This may cause them to appear to be brighter and have more shine than the area around them. Waxing the vehicle can help to make the shiny spots less noticeable.

Unfortunately, if a decal has been on an older vehicle, it may be impossible to remove it without using a grinder and removing the decal and the paint underneath it. If this is the case, you will have to apply primer and repaint the vehicle to get rid of the decal.

Ensure Peace of Mind by Shipping Your Car in One Piece

Posted November 19th by Tom Kearns in Trucks

Hastily trusting your car to the first trucking company you come across is the last thing you want, sign a contract on faith, have your car picked up already that day, and then in Pompeii or Paris have the shipment delayed. Your vehicle is finally but with damage and you can’t prove it wasn’t there before.

Informing you on how best to submit your property for transportation themselves is something good companies may do. Save time by preparing your car beforehand and it is best to be self-informed. The responsibility for any overlooked issues rest wholly with the client so make sure the busy clerk doesn’t forget a point or two.

It is better to be fastidious than a careless slacker where your car is concerned. It is not uncommon for occurrences of scandalous customer service involving expensive cargo. Inspect you car minutely before admitting it to a company clerk, pay particular attention to the motor. So that later you will not have to wrack your brains about a bunch of wires you never before noticed it is better to be fully aware of the motor’s condition before shipment.

Removing any removable customized accessories such as radios, alarms, mirrors, etc. is better. Be sure to make sure there aren’t any personal valuable or belongings inside the car that can be seen by anyone. The tires should be checked for wear and air. In the agreement to be signed by both parties there should be written record of any damage. In your presence the car will most likely be checked by a company official, but don’t be afraid to nag him with small details. Obliging their customers is something good carriers companies will be glad to do, and a display of negligence might deter bad companies from carelessly handling your property.

Over the phone and by mail there are too many insurance policies offered and a reasonable person would be insane to pay for all of them. It is better to buy insurance from them against damage and theft no matter how trustworthy they seem.

Decide whether you want primary or excess insurance and inquire beforehand if the company offers the one you prefer. The primary insurance policy will cover damages independently of what is covered by your regular auto insurance. The excess policy covers only what your regular insurance doesn’t: make sure you know precisely what you are and aren’t currently covered against.

For exotic vehicles, antiques or classic cars there are companies specializing in the shipping of these. Handling your precious cargo is what their specially designed carriers are designed for, but it is still advisable to an insurance contract.

Taking digitally-dated photos of your car prior to shipping is a good idea. Inspect the car with the truck driver and inspect the car for apparent damage immediately. This should be done in the presence of the driver or official at the destination. If any new objectionable damage is found a claim should be filed immediately.

The Importance Of Proper Teen Driving Instructions

Posted November 16th by Marc Marseille in Cars

When the time comes that your teen aged son or daughter is old enough to drive, you need to make sure that you get them the best lessons possible. Get them aa driving lessons and they’ll be ready to take on the road. Typically, teen aged drivers receive a learning permit before getting their permanent drivers license. Driving statistics cite that young drivers, especially boys are 75% more likely to have an automobile accident than an experienced driver.

Knowing this, it is of the utmost importance that your children be provided with the best possible instruction. Having a driver’s license should be treated as a gift, not a right. Many public schools have been forced to discontinue driver’s education training recently because of insurance costs. Parents must pay for private lessons to get their children the best instruction.

When you first get to driving school, you will be instructed on the essential truths about the risks of teenaged driving. Often, counties or localities mandate that a driver receive a provisional license before starting a car. Because of this, a student has to receive instruction on driving basics first. In the beginning, you will learn basic principals that everyone has to know in order to drive. Laws may vary, depending on location.

You will learn about lights and signals, right of way and stop sign procedures. You will learn about the different parts of the vehicle that you have control over and how to master these tools. You may have a mock automobile section in your classroom. This is a very valuable tool. This will allow you to get the true sense of getting behind the wheel without being out loose in the world.

After you pass initials tests letting your trainer know you’re ready to get on the road, you will get your first lesson behind the wheel. The car you drive will have dual controls; this lets your instructor make the final decision on each step you take. If something happens, they can take over and right the situation. While you may not appreciate this, you’ll be glad that someone else can save you and the car if you make the wrong move.

When on road instruction begins, the student will start on courses or in lots. This allows for full understanding of how controls and signals work before getting out in the real world. After you have proven yourself worthy, your instructor will release you to drive on the roads.

It’s not uncommon to begin real driving in an area where there are not a lot of other drivers. Making sure that the driver is comfortable with the vehicle and the road first is very important. Once a driver reaches the stage that the instructor feels is suitable, the open road lessons begin. Classes usually consist of 20 hours of class time and 20 or more hours of drivers training.

When you have completed your on road and classroom instruction, your trainer will administer a test. This will prepare you for the actual tests that you’ll have to pass to get your license. You will usually have 3 attempts to pass your drivers test before having to go for more instruction. Listen well, be alert and you’ll do just fine.

Lotus Exige Scura

Posted November 3rd by Arhur Monderos in Cars

While a majority of automakers are bailing out of the Tokyo Motor Show, it is nice to see that there will indeed be a few new models to look at when it comes to be show time. One such vehicle will be a special edition sports car from he light weight English race car builders at Lotus. While the boffins from across the pond have already engineered every unnecessary ounce out of the Exige in the hopes of creating a hard core driving experience, this particularly dark model focuses on making the little Lotus as sinister looking as it is lethal. The special edition Tokyo Motor Show Lotus Exige is named the Scura, which is the Italian word for dark, due to its dramatic black bodywork and a GT3 inspired rear end.

Priced at around $75,000 the Exige Scura features a trio of Phantom Black stripes to break up the large panels of matte black paint, however the carbon fiber bits and suede wrapped racing buckets go a bit further towards showing off the Scura’s true purpose of being an all out competition vehicle. Only now instead of laughing at bright orange bodywork, other drivers will stay out of this Lotus’ way. Like all Exige models the Scura is powered by a supercharged four cylinder engine that delivers a maximum output of 257 HP 174 lb-ft of torque, while it can sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in only 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 152 MPH.

Lotus Cars unveils its latest special edition – the Exige Scura, so called due to its dramatic matt black and carbon fibre theme, at the Tokyo International Motorshow on 21st of October 2009.

Translated as ‘dark’ from Italian, the name ‘Scura’ reflects the stealth character of this already fierce looking Lotus and its stunning soft-feel matt black paint finish. Limited to just 35 cars globally, this Exige evokes a desire to ‘indulge your dark side’. This is a serious looking car and enhancements to performance and a reduction in weight from the production level Exige S means that the Exige Scura demands to be driven by a serious driver.

Contrasting high gloss ‘Phantom Black’ triple stripes run the length of the car and a carbon fibre front splitter, oil cooler inlet vanes, side airscoops and rear spoiler enhance the stunning distinction between the different textures and exaggerate the tactile quality of the velvety touch to the matt black paint finish.

Luke Bennett, Director of Lotus Cars said, “The Exige Scura is a stunning vehicle which offers an adrenaline fuelled experience and is a real head-turner! Our Exige customers choose Lotus because we deliver thrilling performance and dynamic design and this special edition fits the bill on both counts.
